The only currency that we support for now is RXT. We are planning on supporting other currencies in the future.

We are enablers connecting buyers and sellers in a peer to peer marketplace. We do not store your data assets. As a seller you have complete control over data and its distribution. The overall buying process is very transparent but the data is completely private.

Yes, every dataset that is submitted goes through a moderation process. Each moderator checks the seller credentials, the dataset metadata and preview files uploaded as part of the dataset addition. They also do their own external due diligence before approving a dataset. The dataset has to receive sufficient approvals to cross the threshold before its approved and appears in the marketplace.

Every new dataset that is added is encrypted and uploaded to the storage nodes. Storage nodes are an additional decentralized service that is part of the core Rocket Exchange ecosystem. The metadata and preview files uploaded as part of metadata are not encrypted.

To store large amounts of information in blockchain we utilize multihashes of files uploaded to storage nodes (7). For user profiles smart contract storage in blockchain has a multihash of a profile. For every dataset blockchain stores a multihash of its metadata as well as other information like owner, price, and votes. Every channel between buyer and seller is also stored in the blockchain to allow secure exchange of funds and decryption keys between marketplace users. A separate smart contract acts as a reward vault.

You can cancel the buy request and get back your escrow for that request. You can do this from the “Buy” section of the marketplace.

You can get RXT and ETH for the test network from the Faucet.

The only fees involved are paying a gas fee for the Ethereum transaction.

For every dataset you approve or reject, you will be rewarded for your work in RXT. The reward depends on how much you have staked and could vary on a case to case basis. In general the higher you stake the higher the reward.

Data Moderators play an important role in the curation of the datasets providing trust, validation and verification to all parties involved. Moderators will be rewarded for the role that they play in the Rocket Exchange ecosystem similar to the Token Curated Registry models prevalent in other marketplaces.

As soon as a dataset is added to Rocket Exchange, it becomes available for moderation. The dataset will be available for review in the voting tab in moderator mode. After review a moderator can choose to Approve or Reject the dataset. At the end of the voting period, the decision for the dataset approval is based on a simple majority. The moderators get compensated for the work that they do in this process.

The moderation time is set at xyz blocks. In essence, a moderator has about a week from the time the dataset was added to act.

Rewards are automatically dispatched to the wallet as soon as a moderator approves or rejects a dataset.

A preview file for the dataset that can be viewed by moderators and potential buyers. Choosing the preview file is important as it captures the essence of what the dataset is all about. You can upload more than one preview file and even you can choose an existing file that you uploaded as a preview file.

Yes, you can upload free and paid datasets in Rocket exchange. For free datasets, you can set the license type and for paid datasets you can set the price in RXT.

We support the following license types for Free datasets:

In the test network, it can take up to 3 days for the newly added dataset to be approved.

No fees are needed for adding a new dataset. The platform takes care of the transaction costs in listing the dataset.

Once your dataset is listed in the marketplace, everybody can view the listing which is Description, metadata, preview of files. The actual dataset in encrypted and not visible. Potential Buyers can send you a buy requests and you can choose who you want to sell to. During the selling process, the keys are exchanged for the data to be decrypted.

No. We do not support revisions currently. But we plan to add this feature in the future.

There are no limits to the number of datasets that you can upload.

We recommend following these guidelines:

• Double check the files uploaded and metadata for the dataset.
• Be accurate while describing the dataset and its contents
• Do mention the source of the dataset and your contribution to the uploaded dataset accurately
• Make sure the dataset follows the Terms and Conditions
• If you still think you have a case, try re-submitting the dataset

Here are some recommendations for dataset uploads:

• CSV format recommended.
• There is a 500 Mb size limit.
• Add up to 20 files.
• The uploaded data should follow the terms & conditions set by Rocket Exchange.

Here are some guidelines for uploading the dataset files:

• CSV files are the preferred format, should be comma-delimited. These will render properly in the file preview, allowing you to add column-level descriptions.
• You can compress files into a ZIP archive.
• If you have a SQLite database for this dataset, name it database.sqlite in order for users to be able to query it.
• Keep file names short and clear. Do not include the dataset’s name.
